Treatment Philosophy

Receiving radiation therapy at CCC involves minimal disruption of the patients' everyday activities. The treatments are quick and painless. Over the past 22 years, radiation therapy technology has steadily evolved and become more sophisticated. At CCC we constantly strive to stay abreast of this advancing technology without unnecessary or wasteful expenditures. New developments in radiation therapy technology are thoroughly investigated to determine whether additional purchases are appropriate for the Center and our patients.

Not only do we have state-of-the-art equipment, our staff is highly trained and skilled in delivering radiation treatments. Our medical personnel are all licensed by the state of Oregon and are certified by nationally recognized organizations in their respective fields of expertise. Continuing education for each member of our staff is a top priority for CCC management in order to ensure that our staff continues to deliver the best medical care available anywhere! The Community Cancer Center is fully accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR). This is your assurance that our building, equipment, policies, procedures, and personnel have all been examined by outside experts and that we meet or exceed the rigorous national standards set by the ACR. No other radiation oncology facility in Oregon has achieved ACR accreditation status.

Patients can also receive the benefit of free housing (located just down the street from the Center). Owned by the Community Cancer Foundation and furnished by the Altrusa Club, these comfortable and convenient apartments provide easy access to the Center for patients and families from outside the Roseburg area. For patients in the Roseburg area who do not have transportation or are unable to drive, we provide a free van service to the Center. The van is owned by the Center and operated by trained volunteers from the community.

The Community Cancer Center accepts/participates with many insurance programs including, but not limited to: Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Oregon, Medicare, Lifewise, PacificSource and ODS Health Plan. We should also point out the fact that no one is turned away from our facility because of inability to pay. Our financial counselor will be glad to work with you to develop a payment plan suitable to your financial situation.

We believe that the Center's involvement in the community does not reside solely with the delivery of radiation therapy, but touches on all aspects of cancer prevention, awareness, education, and treatment. Therefore, the Community Cancer Center supports cancer awareness by participation in health fairs and sponsoring many cancer related events.
